Welcome

Board Trustees

Candidate information

I am very pleased that you are interested in joining us as a Trustee at BPAS.

It’s a hugely exciting time to join us, as we embark on a programme of change and improvement which will ensure we maintain our position as the leading specialists of abortion advice and treatment in the UK.

Our work has never been more important. We have made a number of significant advances over our 55 years in existence, including recent success on issues such as fertility treatment rules for same-sex couples and the release from prison of a woman sentenced to prison for ending her own pregnancy.

Yet there is still much to do in ensuring that women have access to the reproductive healthcare, advice and support that they deserve.

With stable finances and a clear mandate for our mission, we are well-placed to consolidate and extend our work over the coming years.

After a period of significant growth at a service level, we have been focused on ensuring that our policies, procedures, resources and structures are fully suited to the size and scale of the charity we have become. This has included bringing new executive and trustee talent into our leadership team.

But we need to continue this journey and add to our trustees – in particular, we want to appoint an experienced financial leader to our trustee board.

We are being supported in this appointment by Cadence Partners, and I encourage you to contact them for an informal conversation to explore your suitability for the role.

Once again, many thanks for your interest, and I look forward to meeting you.

Dr Lucy Moore

Executive Chair, BPAS
